GRID INTEGRATION WHITE PAPER OF THE EU PV TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM: PHOTOVOLTAICS MERGING WITH THE ACTIVE INTEGRATED GRID
With this paper we set to clarify the terms of this discussion: how is penetration of PV into power grids evaluated? What are the current levels? Which barriers may prevent increasing these levels? Which concepts have been put forward to open these barriers? Which benefits can PV systems provide for existing and new grids?
PV GRID: Final project report 2014
PV GRID is a European project operating in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme. The overall goal of the PV GRID project is to address the regulatory, normative and administrative barriers hampering the integration of Photovoltaics (PV) into the electricity distribution grids in Europe through two main actions :
- enhancing PV hosting capacity in distribution grids by favouring the adoption of available technical solutions ;
- assessing national frameworks for PV development in the participating countries.
IEA PVPS Report 2014: High penetration of PV in local distribution grids
This report covers aspects related to distribution integration, presenting a worldwide selection of best-practice case studies and the latest findings from the working period from 2010 to 2013 within the IEA Task 14 Subtask 2 "High Penetration of PV Systems in Local Distribution Grids". It enables the reader to deeply understand the fundamental characteristics of the national distribution grids and associated technical issues that are related to high PV penetration in the local power system. including current technical and regulatory interconnection requirements.
